Vila Sol Golf Course is a renowned golf destination in Vilamoura, offering 27 holes across three distinctive nine-hole layouts: Prime, Challenge and Prestige. Designed by acclaimed British golf architect Donald Steel, the course opened in 1991, with the additional nine-hole Prestige layout introduced in 2001.
Set among mature pine woodland and the natural landscape of the Algarve, Vila Sol combines scenic surroundings with a varied and challenging layout. The fairways wind through trees and rolling terrain, while lakes, bunkers and strategically positioned hazards require accurate and thoughtful play.
The three nine-hole loops provide different playing characteristics, allowing golfers to experience varied combinations of the course. The Prime and Challenge layouts form the original championship course, while the Prestige loop adds another distinctive dimension to the Vila Sol golfing experience.
Vila Sol has also hosted the Portuguese Open, adding to its established reputation as one of the Algarve’s recognised golf destinations.
